Editorial Policy
Quote-Removal Protocol
The Visa Wire publishes commentary from named immigration attorneys, mobility specialists, and policy experts. When a contributor faces a regulatory action, accusation, or unrelated scandal, The Visa Wire applies the following decision criteria.
Decision criteria
Regulatory or disciplinary action against contributor
Immediate suspension of new quotes. Past quotes reviewed case-by-case based on (a) severity of action and (b) relevance to visa-policy reporting credibility.
Plagiarism or fabrication accusation
New quotes suspended. Past quotes removed if accusation is substantiated.
Unrelated scandal not affecting professional credibility
New quotes suspended during the news cycle. Relationship restored if no fallout to professional standing.
Contributor violates non-exclusivity agreement
Editorial discussion. Not auto-removal — non-exclusivity expectations are clarified at contribution onboarding.
Removal mechanics
When a past quote is removed, the article carries an in-article note:
This article previously cited [Name] of [Firm]; quote removed [date] following [reason].
The Visa Wire does not silently edit past articles. Removal is always transparent. The original article structure is preserved; only the quote and attribution line are replaced with the removal note.
