Editorial Policy

Editorial Independence

The Visa Wire has no transactional visa product, no commercial relationship with any visa-service business, and no advertiser influence on editorial decisions.

Named-expert contributors are quoted on a free-exposure basis. The Visa Wire retains full editorial control over which quotes appear and how they are framed.

Year 3+ paid-placement contributions, when activated, will appear at a separate URL pattern (/voices/[firm-slug]/) — visually and structurally distinct from editorial quotes — and will be clearly disclosed as “Sponsored by [Firm Name].”

OraVisa firewall disclosure

The Visa Wire's editor (Ashish Kumar) operates a separate visa-service business in the UAE (OraVisa). The two ventures share no commercial relationship, no editorial overlap, and no audience targeting. The Visa Wire does not cover OraVisa's services and does not coordinate editorial with OraVisa's marketing.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell visas, immigration services, or applications.
  • We do not accept payment from visa applicants, sponsors, or employers in exchange for editorial coverage.
  • We do not accept advertising from named subjects of news coverage during the news cycle in which they are reported.
  • We do not make predictions about future government policy or individual application outcomes.
  • We do not rank visa programs, countries, or service providers (per Constitution Rule 4).

Conflicts of interest

If a named-expert contributor or advertiser has a commercial conflict with a news subject, The Visa Wire will disclose the conflict inline in the relevant article. Where conflicts are material, the editor may decline to publish a quote or hold an article pending alternative sourcing.
